Reverse Video

Check out this video of my 5 year old son solving the Rubik's cube.

Impressed?

Actually, the video was of him messing the Rubik's cube up; it was then reversed using a free piece of software. I had the idea after watching a TV programme called CR8 which was aired on the now defunct (sadly) Discovery Kids channel. Here is a Youtube clip from the show with a few more ideas for reverse video projects.

Your own video editing software may contain a reverse feature but if it doesn't then you can download the K-5 Video Reversal Tool. It is very easy to setup and use and it supports most video formats. Its interface is simple and intuitive. However, make sure that you run it with administrator rights, otherwise it will tell you it has completed the task, but no video is produced. Whilst reversing the video progress is reported in a DOS box. It can take quite some time to do the conversion.

Once you have the reverse video you can import it into your favourite video editing software and add titles, music etc.
